Housekeeper (Relief)

Performance Requirements

• Must be able to organize work, follow instructions, and list of daily, weekly and monthly duties

• Must have knowledge of working in a safe environment always aware that we have residents who may have poor vision and reflexes and their safety depends on staff keeping the floors free of objects, etc.
• Provide emergency response – Evacuation & Pandemic Planning
• Valid First Aid and CPR and Food Hygiene
• Ensure safety and security of residents.
• Although it is not required, assisting co-workers when possible is encouraged and appreciated. We are a team!

Duties of Housekeeper

• Clean bathrooms and shower/tub rooms

• Clean lavatories, sinks and toilets

• Mop rooms
• Main entrance kept clean
• Waste receptacles emptied
• Window ledges dusted
• Floors mopped daily
• Dust and mop residents lounge
• Dust Aide station
• Dust and dry mop Administration offices
• Spot clean walls and woodwork
• Dust bedside tables
• Clean staff lavatory
• Clean dining room daily
• Straighten furniture and drapes in residents rooms
• Damp mop all floors
• Disinfect areas contaminated by body fluids (illness/accident) after area is cleaned by Aide.
• Other related duties as instructed by the Administrator.

Required Qualifications

• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
• Valid Food Hygiene certificate
• Fire Life and Safety Training
• Clear Criminal Records Check
